SHEILA: DONATIONS AND HOME NEEDED!!!
This little lady has a sad story and is just waiting for her fairy tale ending!!! We received an email that baby Sheila was at an LA shelter with a broken leg. Sadly, she had been sitting there for over a week without treatment! One of our volunteers drove quite a long time to pick her up and get her to our vet, who kept her one night and immediately performed surgery on her leg. Unfortunately, she sat at the shelter too long, so her badly broken leg started to heal and had to be re-broken and pinned with a rod (which is to be removed soon!) Sheila is a typical happy-go-lucky puppy who loves everybody and everything! She is great with other dogs and just a little kissing love bug! She is a pure Cattle Dog and will be on the small side. She is currently about 6-months old. Sheila's vet bill is over $2000, so if you'd like to donate to her care, you can make a donation on our website. She also needs a home and as long as you live close enough to get her to our vet in Yorba Linda, she can go home with you and we will continue to pay for her care until completed! Her adoption fee will be $300 and includes her spay, microchip, and current vaccinations. This is a fabulous breed, and are known for their loyalty. Please do your research on the breed if you've never owned one. If you think they are the right breed for you, we would love for you to fill out a questionnaire on our website!

CAN YOU SHOW LEO THE LOVE HE DESERVES??? Please give him a second chance at a wonderful life!!! Leo has won our hearts and will win yours the second you meet him! He has the most sweet and gentle soul. Recently we rescued about ten dogs from a very high kill shelter. When we got Leo, we were told he had a limp. Well...that couldn't have been farther from the truth!!! The poor boy couldn't walk on his leg at all :-(
He was taken to the vet and x-rays showed that his leg had been badly broken in several places. Because it had started to heal, it had to be amputated. The vet that examined him couldn't stop praising his personality!!! He said that with all the poking and prodding he did on his leg, he should not have been so calm...but he WAS VERY CALM and gentle the entire time!!!
Leo had his leg amputated on Monday, May 10th. We were then SHOCKED when we found out that the vet found TWO BULLET SLUGS in his leg!!! HE HAD BEEN SHOT!!! Can you imagine anyone trying to hurt this precious boy? We can't!!! It pains us to think how long he has had to endure the pain of having his leg shattered by bullets!!!
Well, as you can see, sweet Leo is now a very happy boy with his tail wagging! Although there will be some discomfort for a couple days, he no longer has to live with the pain from his injury. He can now walk, run, and play pain free. He can do ANYTHING any other dog can do! He will soon be running like the wind :-) Leo has been neutered, is up to date with all vaccinations, and microchipped. Leo is about 3-years old. His adoption fee is $250. His surgery was several hundred dollars, so we would also love donations to help pay the vet bill if you are able.
